He's officially 1 and a half!

Holy Cannelloni, I am super far behind on Liam's updates. These past few months have been incredible. We went on a 30 day vacation to the states to visit family. 10 days in Santa Cruz and 10 days in Reno. On the way home to Okinawa, we got "stuck" in Hawaii for 5 days! It was the best, unintentional Hawaiian vacations. After being married to Kyle for almost 5 years, I have learned that the best vacations, are the unplanned ones.

We rented a car, and drove all around O'ahu and Honolulu for 5 days. It was so much fun! Kyle and I needed the time to ourselves. Visiting family can be chaotic sometimes since we are so used to being just us three, so it was a nice vacation to the end of our vacation. Liam is becoming quite the world traveler!

Speaking of Liam, he is a totally different kid than he was a few months ago. I know I say this every time, but he is so much fun now! It is really starting to sink in that he is a toddler. It hit me the other day when we had to stop in the parking lot because he informed me his shoe was untied. I guess the quickest way to fill you all in is to make a list, so here we go!

* He is now wearing size 2t. He is officially too tall for the baby sized clothes. He is in the 97th percentile for his height, and 60th for weight. He is in a size 5 diaper, and size 7 shoe.

*He is talking SO much more! Most of his words are jibber jabbers. But he is able to say the basics: stuck, hot, duck, Dada, Mama, dog, cat, cracker, nite nite, all done, keys, water, etc. We can actually communicate now, which is super fun! He will let me know when he is stuck somewhere (usually when I have him strapped into his booster seat-he assumes he is stuck haha), or if one of his toys are stuck. Also, if he drops something, he will say "Uh-oh" for a good 5 minutes at least. All food is "hot" to Liam too. He blows on everything.

* We officially packed up the high chair, and he sits at the dining table with us in a booster chair. We always eat dinner together as a family at the dining table, so it's neat to see him sitting right there next to us.

* He eats what we eat, unless it's something spicy. The other night I gave him a bite of my spicy black bean burger, and he started wiping his tongue off. It was sad, but also hilarious.

* He is a huge lover, and always wants to be like his Dad. If Daddy is wearing a hat, Liam wants to wear a hat. If Dad is playing video games, Liam is sitting right next to him on the couch watching. He is not much of a snuggler, but definitely a hugger and kisser.

* He says "hi" to anything that moves. His favorite thing to wave to and say "hi" to are cats and dogs. This boy gets soooo giddy over seeing animals. I think another trip to the zoo is in order!

* He has a MAJOR sweet tooth, no surprise there. I don't mean candy either. I think I can count on one hand how many times he has had candy. I mean anything sweet like yogurt, fruit, *cough* ice cream *cough* I have no idea where he got his sweet tooth from ;)

* He is such an easy kid. He is not a tantrum thrower or a whiner. He is totally content playing by himself, or playing with you right up in his bubble. He is very laid back. We have it pretty easy ;)

* His favorite TV show is Sesame Street and cooking shows. He loves hanging out on my hip while I am in the kitchen cooking. He knows that the stove is very hot, and he reminds me every 2 seconds while I cook.

* He still hates meat.

*He has outgrown his baby toys. He likes playing with toys that require imagination now. He loves Little People toys! We got him a dude dollhouse-type thing that is Sesame Street and he puts Cookie Monster and Elmo through the doorways and such. He just loves to tinker.

* He will fight you for a smoothie. Anything that has a straw, he assumes is a smoothie and he gets quite upset if you don't share.

* He is only missing two teeth! He has molars and everything. Boy, were those a pain!

Anyway, I could talk all day about my little guy. There is so much more to say! I love him with everything I am and he makes me the happiest person in the world. I feel so blessed to be this sweet little guy's Mommy.
